What is Frontline?

Why Frontline Works
Frontline’s active ingredient fipronil, proven effective at killing fleas and ticks, is stored within the oil glands underneath your pet’s skin and released over time in the appropriate amounts until the entire body is protected for the next 30 days.
And, since the product isn’t applied to the pet’s fur or hair but instead onto the skin, it is then stored within the numerous oil glands so you can be sure of a continual dosage without the need for reapplying each month.
Through a natural process called translocation, Frontline will be evenly distributed all over your pet’s body in approximately 24 hours with the help of their natural oils. After that, the product will be wicked up into the fur over the next month offering continuing protection against fleas and ticks.
How to Apply Frontline
Designed to be applied in one easy step, making it perfect for nervous or hard to restrain dogs and cats, Frontline comes in a child-resistant package that’s easy to cut into with a pair of scissors before removing an applicator and peeling back the foil.
Next, holding the applicator upright and away from your body and face, snap the tip off and you’re ready to apply. The applicator tip should be placed down through the fur and up against your pet’s skin in the middle of the shoulder blades on their back. Finally, squeeze the entire contents of the tube out onto only one single spot on the skin.
